More Whatnots

We went up to Calgary today to the children's hospital for Lorelle's followup. It went really well. Her cheek reacted well just not as well as he had thought. The stuff he used to close her cysts, he had to take out so that it wouldn't turn her teeth yellow. The stuff works really well in other people who have had their permanant teeth in and he can keep the agent in the cyst and then the procedure is only done once since the cheek has shrunk to normal size. But since she is so little and he couldn't keep it in, they didn't close up all the way. So they are gonna do another surgery to shrink some more. This time they are gonna use a stronger agent and that should work really well and she should look great. The stuff he is using this time is used on for some chemo-theropy patients but is widely used for other things. So her appointment is in a couple weeks and we go through it all again. She did really well the last time and recovered quickly so it should be the same. I'm grateful it is what it is and that she can be helped. 

oh and he pulled out his ultrasound machine and we saw where the cysts were that he shrunk and found a big one at the bottom of her cheek that will be drained along with some other little ones that we didn't see since the big ones that were drained were blocking them. You can see in the picture at the top how much it has gone down but her cheek is still a little saggy and that is where the big cyst is. There is also tissue in between some of the cysts that obviously can't be shrunk cuz its skin tissue but since that is there her cheek may never shrink to the same size as her other one but it won't be really that noticeable and really who knows what they will be able to do in a few more years. So all is well and she's beautiful. I'll post pictures again after her next surgery.
