I'm sure I'm not the only one.......

If you are the mom of a boy (and probably even girls) but most likely boys, I'm sure you have had the same or similar experience.

Last night James and I are sitting on the couch watching TV. The girls are in bed and Jared is on the computer playing games on Nick Jr. Jared comes up to me and says:

"mom, mom, smell this!!"

So with his hand in my face, I smell. (my first mistake)

"ewww what is that?? It smells like poo, what happened?"

Jared starts laughing hysterically and says:

"from my bum!!!!!"

"Jared did you stick your finger in your bum and make mom smell it?"

"YES!!!!!!" (as he laughing)

After proceeding to tell him that that was disgusting and to keep his hands out of his pants and away from his butt and go wash his hands, WITH SOAP, I looked at James and he looked at me and we laughed. Then I said to James:

"Clearly, this is your fault"

The Baseball

Lorelle had her 3rd surgery on wednesday. We have been told with every one that she has had, that her cheek should get swollen, hard and bruised for at least a week. The last 2, her cheek didn't really get swollen, it got a little bruised and defiantly hard but not really swollen. Well, this time around, holy moly! Her cheek is huge. It looks like she has a baseball shoved in her cheek. It is defiantly swollen, hard and purple all over. This gives me a little hope that finally this will be the one that works. The last 2 as we all know, were not as successful as hoped but her cheek also never really did what he said it would, until now. And thanks to my wonderful friend Mishel for the use of her camera, since mine is still missing (so annoying btw), we were able to get some good shots. Better than the ones I tried on the computer. It'll be exciting to see the results when it finally does heal.

Here's a side view of the bruises. There are lots more under her chin.
and some good face shots.

Boy or Girl?

I spent the last hour avoiding cleaning and taking test upon test to predict the gender of our baby. I am hoping for a boy just so that things will be even and Jared can have a brother and I love little stud muffin boys. They are way adorable. But if we had another girl that would be great too. I don't really care. Anyway, so I took these tests. After the first 5 or 6, only one told me it was a girl, the rest, a boy. Then I took 5 or 6 more (there are surprisingly a lot of these tests on the internet) and all of them told me it was a girl.

So what did I learn from my wasted hour of cleanliness avoiding???
I have a 50-50 chance that it's a boy or girl.
I feel it was time well wasted.

another milestone

I love this milestone. Lorelle finally has pigtails and frankly, they are sooooo cute! I know the pictures aren't that great. I can't find my camera anywhere so they are taken off the computer so of course I couldn't get her to turn around cuz there were too many buttons to play with in front of her. She looks so big, defiantly starting to grow out of the baby look and into the toddler stage. It's kinda sad but fun at the same time. I know they aren't straight (yes Jana, I am aware) but she was less than co-operative and it took me about 10 minutes to get it as good as I did. She's beautiful and I love it (and her of course).

Today

Today I woke up a little less than pleasant.

I felt sick.
I felt tired.
I felt achy.
I felt sore.
I felt annoyed.
I was so hungry but there was nothing in my house that sounded appetizing.
So I forced a piece of toast down my throat (and by force I mean in between gags and re-swallowing). It was a little nasty and I gave the rest to Lorelle. I couldn't eat anything more, it just made me sicker.
I wanted a pity party. I sat listening to kids fight, looking at the garbage dump that is my home, trying to think of something for supper that doesn't make me what to hurl and began to feel sorry for myself since I haven't been able to do all the things I used to. Feeling overwhelmed at not being able to keep up with anything and then it just gets the best of me and I just feel worse.
I want to complain about everything, just let it all out. But as I was sitting here wondering what to say, all I could think about is how it's really not that bad and there are so many people out there with worse situations and I should quit being a selfish, whiny baby and suck it up. So I'm not going to.
Jared is at school and Lorelle is sleeping so I am spending the afternoon with Mady who just came and gave me a hug. It made me feel so much better. So as much as I wish I had a maid, my own restaurant in my backyard to eat at everyday and no responsibility so I could sit and laze around all day, at least I can be sick and I should be grateful for that and realize it's only for a short while and the best part.......the LAST time I will ever have to do it. That thought in itself makes my pity party disappear.

What's With People???

Some people are retarded. I'm sorry but it's just the facts.

(touching their own cheek) "Is that normal?"

"So, does she have a tumor or something in her face?"

"what is that in her face?"

or my personal favorite:
While visiting a friend's ward for a baby blessing, after sacrament meeting, with tones of people around, at the top of her lungs so everyone looks,

"OH MY GOSH, WHAT'S WRONG WITH HER FACE?"

There have been other things. I notice people looking and whispering about her in the Dr. office like I can't hear them but I totally can and people just staring. It's one thing when I know you but when you are a complete stranger, I mean, can you be any ruder??? All those things said to me where from strangers I have never seen before in my life. Do people not have any manners? I would never say anything to someone if I saw their child with something. Is that just me?? I just think it is so tacky. People I know from various places have asked me about it and whatnot but that I don't care about that cuz I know you and you aren't rude about it. It makes me wonder what other people get when they have a child with something different or some kind of handicap. It makes me sad, really. Some people are just stupid.

Lorelle had an appointment on the 8th to get her cheek done again but she got thrush and was on meds so now it's booked for Feb. 3rd. What 13 month old who isn't nursing gets thrush?? Honestly. Anyway, here's a picture of her. I don't even really notice it anymore but I am her mom and I see her everyday and I'm sure people who don't see her everyday notice a lot cuz they like to be rude about it. I'm not bitter.....just annoyed and it's all Jana's fault for getting me on the subject today and made me remember these rude people. So I blogged about it.
